Over 1 500 students participate in 22nd Junior Achievement Perú La Compañía 2.0 Program’s Exhibition and Sale

Junior Achievement Perú held the highly successful twenty-second edition of its La Compañía 2.0 program’s Exhibition and Sale on August 25th and 26th at the Niño Héroe Manuel Bonilla Municipal Sports Complex in Miraflores. The event was sponsored by Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola.

Speakers at the opening ceremony of the Exhibition and Sale included the executive director of Junior Achievement Perú, Carla Muñiz de los Ríos; USIL vice president of Entrepreneurship, Daniel Diez Canseco; the director of Technological Innovation in Education at the Ministry of Education, María Lucía Acurio; the chairman of the board at JA Americas, José Brousset; and the deputy mayor of Miraflores, Israel Acuña.

Participants in this edition included 1 542 students from 51 schools in Lima and other provinces, who sold their products in 70 stands. Over the course of the program, they acquired real experience in the world of business, as they managed their revenue, issued receipts and interacted with the public. 

On the second day of the event, USIL founder and chairman of the board of directors Raúl Diez Canseco encouraged the students to think big and carry out their entrepreneurial projects, making use of what they had learned in the Junior Achievement Perú La Compañía 2.0 program.

In addition to putting their business skills to the test, these young students demonstrated their artistic abilities in dance, singing and music performances on both days of the event. The company that won the most votes in both the Stand and Talent Show categories was Colegio San Francisco de Borja’s Mahi company.

Over the last 22 years, La Compañía 2.0 has achieved its mission of fostering entrepreneurship and financial education among school students like the ones who participated in this event. It should be noted that upon completing the program, these young people are able to identify business opportunities, formulate business plans and strategies, and run their own small businesses.
